This lot includes Alphabet (1969), a 14-page stapled booklet by Timothy Epps with design by John Stegmeijer (Total Design) discussing the design of his proposed typeface. The second title is Gerard Unger's A Counter Proposal (1968) – I see no reason in developing an alphabet which takes a totally new form ... it would be more logical to adapt the machine. Both Quadrat-Print's (a series of printing experiments within the fields of graphic design, plastic arts, literature, architecture and music) are edited by Pieter Brattinga and written in response to Wim Crouwel's experimental proposal for his own New Alphabet.

Good condition with heavy wear, foxing and pencil mostly to the covers and edges. Interiors are clean and unmarked.
